The C Series software is very intuitive for complex chartplotter. It makes good use of its 5 soft keys and numerous dedicated pushbuttons. Getting it started up with the basics and using it right out of the box should be a breeze without much need for the manual. Waypoint entry allows for a 16-character name, and a 32-character comment for each waypoint. This should make obscure waypoints in a large list much easier to identify and use, however the of the lack of an alphanumeric keypad will make adding groups of waypoints a bit cumbersome.
The Instrument displays can be customized with multiple combinations of graphical, digital, and analog displays. You can even keep track of engine performance with virtual engine instruments. Using NMEA 2000 or J1939 protocol, the C120 can network with electronic engine instrument systems.
The Raymarine C120 Classic puts the power of Multifunction Navigation into a single display. Though they are not being produced any longer by Raymarine, new & used C120 units are still readily available. See Current Listings
